By Ray Kinsella  It was great to meet the inspirational Alexander McLean yesterday, founder of the African Prison Project.  Alexander was born and brought up in Mitcham, member of Ashoka, the largest network of social entrepreneurs worldwide, a TED fellow  involved in world changing initiatives and Beacon Prize winner in 2007 for his philanthropic work.

The African Prison Project operates from the Merton Chamber Generator Business Centre. Alexander and I had a  very motivational conversation (for me at least!) about Alexander’s work in prisons across Africa and his plans to open up community coffee shop in Mitcham. I’ll be of no be use to Alexander on the world stage but Mitcham is another matter!

We are pleased to be supporting the African Prison Project through both our  Merton Means Business and Merton Business Support Service and hope that you can get behind them too.
