The first weekend of June this year saw the first ever VannFest.  Set in the fields of some of Surrey’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, VannFest was pulled together by the small arts organisation based in Merton Abbey Mills, The Sound Lounge.  Completely unsponsored, non-corporate and like festivals of olde, VannFest was a celebration of independent art, a weekend packed of free workshops for both adults and children ranging from the enlightening, to the creative, to the very, very active, a small and exciting market of food and festival must-haves, and free camping for the full weekend.

The Sound Lounge is an organisation seeking to promote independent art and invest in people to strengthen communities and improve access to music and art of all kind
