On 26 June, nine businesses attended a Greening Business workshop in Camden, one of the latest London boroughs to join the Greening Business programme. The breakfast workshop was kindly hosted at ARUP’s offices. Businesses attending the workshop found out more about the following:

  Environmental Management – the benefits of environmental management and an introduction to environmental management systems (EMS) and legislation;

   Environmental Concerns – understanding environmental concerns globally and locally and how a business can mitigate against these issues;

   Environmental Indicators – understanding the impact each business has on the environment and learning how to measure your impact;

   Environmental Policy – identifying the key elements of an environmental policy and defining its scope and boundaries.

The workshop included informative presentations by our Greening Business Advisors, discussions and practical activities.

Businesses who attended are now going on to participate fully in the Greening Business Programme, so that they can receive even more support from the Advisors in relation to their specific business.

We are now planning further workshops in our other boroughs. If you would be interested in attending one, please get in touch.

In the meantime our usual FREE advice service continues in Merton, Wandsworth, Richmond, Barking & Dagenham, Camden and Hammersmith & Fulham.

The programme can support all sorts of small/medium sized businesses and voluntary organisations, and has already supported restaurants, hotels, accountants, hairdressers, churches, care homes and more. To find out more, ring Merton Chamber of Commerce on 020 8944 5501 or click here

Greening Business is provided free of charge thanks to part-funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Due to the success of this workshop, there will be another one on 23/09/2014 for Camden based SMEs
