In-person Workshop: Just Transition, Skills and London’s Green Economy, 29 May

Written byLauren De Moet

Following the launch of London Councils’ report Skills for the transition to net zero: London government’s activities in December 2023, London Councils is writing to you with an update – and our thanks to those of you who were able to attend our launch event.

We want to continue to work at pace by inviting you to an in-person workshop on the recommendation relating to Just Transition, Skills and London’s Green Economy.

The aim of this workshop is to establish how a just transition can be an integral part of our activities to give Londoners the skills they need for a transition to net zero and be reflected in future strategic priorities for skills. The workshop will:

  • Set out why this agenda is important.
  • Outline where the capital is now and where it should aim to get to.
  • Start to identify practical actions to achieving a just transition when supporting Londoners to acquire skills for net zero.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday 29 May 2024, 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Royal Dock Centre for Sustainability, University of East London. We would be delighted if you can join us and would be grateful if you could RSVP our colleague serena.perry@londoncouncils.gov.uk.
