Customs Series 1 – Customs Compliance and How to Survive a Customs Audit Friday 9 October 2015, 8.30am – 11.00am EY, 1 More London Place, London SE1 2AF
London Chamber of Commerce (LCCI), in partnership with EY, hosts a series of educational workshops on Customs related topics to assist business owners, importers, managers, CFOs, purchasers and shipper on how to make international trade as easy and straightforward as possible. Many traders fail to meet the obligations imposed by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), often believing the freight forwarder is responsible for meeting those demands. HMRC requires that full records are kept for all import and export transactions – failure to comply can lead to serious and costly repercussions. This workshop highlights the key concepts that minimise expenses and ensure compliance. It will also present the reasons behind HMRC audits, clarify what your roles and responsibilities are as an importer and prepare you for a customs audit.
