Maria Sharapova is to combine her bid for a second Wimbledon title this month with the opening of a pop-up shop for her sweets brand Sugarpova.
The Russian, who won her fifth grand slam title and second French Open on June 7, has agreed to launch the store at 89 High Street in Wimbledon Village.
The shop, her first since she introduced her candy range at Selfridges in London last year, opens this week. The 6ft 2in ace, 27, said at the launch: “I really want to expand. I see going into cosmetics then fashion. Right now I want to establish myself in the candy business.”
Sharapova has already signed deals to sell rackets and a clothes line and sweets is her latest venture.
