Most of the sanctions have been lifted in Iran, creating new opportunities for companies to trade with the country. Iran is the second largest economy in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia, with an estimated nominal GDP of £276bn in 2015. EU trade with Iran currently stands at around £5.6bn and is expected to quadruple in the next two years.
