Local Authority Employment and Skills Forum Inaugural Meeting, 29 February
The inaugural Local Authority Employment and Skills Forum, a collaborative initiative spearheaded by Haringey, Hackney, and Tower Hamlets, will take place on 29 February. This forum aims to facilitate networking among leaders within Local Authority Employment Services, fostering a platform for exchanging best practices and addressing pertinent challenges in service delivery.
Purpose:
- Exchange best practices in employment and skills services.
- Discuss challenges and innovate solutions in service delivery
- Strategies on future-proofing employment and skills services in light of short term funding.
- Identify opportunities for cross-council commissioning.
Agenda: Future Planning is the focus of the first meeting and will include the following:
- Structures – How are local authorities structuring services to meet the needs of their residents?
- Future proofing services – UKSPF 1 year funding; DWP universal support
- Insights from ESRA – TBC
- Terms of Reference for the forum
- Suggestions for agenda items for next meeting on 13th June 2024
- Networking opportunity
