Wimbledon Village have announced that although they cannot hold their Village Street Party as originally planned, they have new plans to celebrate and they still want to support businesses getting involved.
In the lead up to the Coronation they will install Union Jacks throughout the High Street, Church Road and down the Ridgway. They encourage businesses to decorate their windows with a Royal theme too. They will be posting images on social media and on their website!
They are in the process of booking entertainment to include bands, fairground rides, and other outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy on the Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend, plus Wimbledon Village Stables will be treating visitors to a ‘regal’ horse parade down the High Street over lunchtime. And of course the Farmer’s Market will be running too – hopefully embracing the Coronation theme!
A number of businesses have already said they are keen to get involved and will be running an event or activity for their customers. Wimbledon Village are very happy to provide promotional support via their Social Media and website, so please let them know your plans. Please do let Victoria know if you are planning your own celebration, and if you decorate your window, make sure to send her an image: info@wimbledon-village.com
In addition, if you are a WVBA member and decide to hire an entertainer or performer such as a face-painter, magician, balloon modeller, etc they are prepared to pay 50% of the cost, with a maximum contribution of £250 per business. Please get in touch if you’d like to know more.
Happy Bank Holiday!
