Merton Council’s once-in-a-generation opportunity to give residents a say in how we spend a multi-million-pound fund takes an exciting step closer – and we’re inviting local people to get involved again.
Our fund exists because Merton took an innovative step: we created and grew a council-owned company. And we sold it for a transformative amount of money for local people. Thanks to that decision, we were able to set up the £75m Merton Legacy Fund for projects that will make our borough better today and for decades to come. And, in a groundbreaking move, we’ve given local people a direct say on how we spend £15m of that.
We’re now recruiting a group of local people to help us turn ideas for the Legacy Fund into deliverable projects. With the help of council experts, the Advisory Board will draw up a shortlist of ideas – express interest in joining the Advisory board by 2 November 2025!
We’re also giving local people the opportunity to submit more ideas for projects – you can share your project ideas by 16 November 2025!
We would be grateful if you are able to share this opportunity within your networks, to help us reach local people and communities across Merton.
