Stephen Hammond, the Conservative MP for Wimbledon, has announced on social media that he intends to hold a public meeting on crime.

It is understood that he was prompted to arrange the event following the issue being continually raised by his constituents.

He said on a video published on his Twitter account, “Everybody is worried about crime. There is lots we can do. I want to work with you, the local community, the local police.”

The meeting is to take place on Wednesday 21 June at a central Wimbledon location to be confirmed.

There will be an opportunity to put your questions on crime and policing in the constituency both to the MP and local police officers.
